Nordea’s first and foremost responsibility is to provide customers and the society at large with financial services. By providing loans, payment services, savings accounts and investment opportunities we play an important role in society.
Trust
But it’s not just what we do in Nordea, but how we do it. We need to follow laws and regulations and the norms and values of the societies in which we operate.
We may not break the law by a certain action but we may breach trust. Nordea have Group Directives and other guidelines in place for concrete situations. But trust is something we build and earn. This is what the Nordea values are all about.
Structures and guidelines
CSR is about having structures and guidelines in place to ensure that we in Nordea can do a good honest job. It’s about making sure that the credits we give aren’t used to finance companies that use child labour or pollute the environment.
Respect
CSR is also about simple everyday actions that show respect and concern for customers and the society in which we all live. It’s about putting ourselves in the customer’s situation before we answer or give advice – it’s about respect.
