Nordea and Tennis
Our commitment to Nordic women's tennis started in 2002. By supporting women's tennis we live up to the company's mission, making it possible.
Sponsorship also fulfils the other two main criteria: a joint drive comprising the entire Nordic home market and a targeted drive that puts young people, the stars of tomorrow, into focus. Sponsoring is based around a comprehensive view of Nordic women's tennis.
In taking the world's biggest professional sport for women to Sweden we also take a position for women's sports in a wider perspective.
Nordea Tennis Team
Nordea Tennis Team is a Nordic co-operation project and a part of Nordea’s ambition to support the development of women's tennis throughout the Nordic region. It is a long-term venture that provides the players with assistance with travel and training costs. The team members serve as role models and inspiration to younger girls.
Title sponsor of Nordea Nordic Light Open
Nordea Nordic Light Open is the biggest of Nordea’s
tennis activities.
The aim of Nordea’s commitment to the tournament is to promote the development of tennis in the Nordic region, both in terms of current elite and broadly as a sport. At the tournament young Nordic talents gain visibility and get to play against international top players.
The aim is for NNLO to serve as a source of inspiration and knowledge for tennis enthusiasts, as well as to arouse curiosity and interest in tennis among those yet to discover the greatness of the sport.
According to both WTA and the players on the tour, NNLO has now developed into a well-organised event of international top class.
