More flexibility for personal customers
Private citizens will be able to travel, live and own property more easily in the other European countries, when the same payment instruments and channels will function in all the countries within the Single Euro Payments Area. Buying services and products in different European countries will become simpler, as payment transactions can be made on the same terms as in the home country.
Consumers should familiarise themselves with the new payment instruments to be able to utilise the new payment potential as effectively as possible. The changes compared to the current domestic instruments will be minor, however.
