In the beginning of February we hosted an event at the Nordea head office where we invited 40 talented female students from BI Norwegian Business School. This event is part of Jentecamp; a gender diversity initiative by the Business Committee at BI.
The aim with Jentecamp is to motivate and inspire female students to apply for jobs in finance and other industries where females are underrepresented. The initiative consists of a series of inspiring lectures and workshops where interesting carrier opportunities are in focus.
We participate as a representative for the financial industry and the students who visited our head office met some of our talented people who shared their expertise and told a bit about their career path.
The theme for Nordea’s event was “Future of Finance” and the first speaker was Elin Reitan, private economist who talked about the content marketing concept “CaVoksen”. Ingrid Lehne, head of Customer Intelligence & Analysis shared her view on Big Data and gave some tips on how to stand out as a female in the corporate world.
Thorodd Bakken, head of Sales & Research at Nordea Markets talked about how to be successful in your career; something that includes both hard work and a little bit of luck. We also arranged a scavenger hunt where you got to know more about different career opportunities within Nordea Markets.
The event ended with an inspiring dinner at Grunlerløkka where everyone had the opportunity to continue to talk in a less formal setting.
We are very happy to be part of Jentecamp as we believe it is an engaging and inspiring initiative to get more females interested in the financial industry.
