Payments to Nordea from other banks, such as salaries, have now been entered into the customers’ accounts.

All payments from Nordea to other banks and from other banks to Nordea are delayed today. During the weekend, we made some changes to the bank's main frame computers. An error occurred during the work and this is now causing the delay in payments. The problem is still being fixed, but at the moment we do not have an estimate when the disturbance will be over. The situation is not being caused by a DDoS (a distributed denial-of-service) attack, but a disturbance in the bank's own systems.

Cards and credit transfers in Netbank function as normal. Below you will find additional information on payment confirmations.

We will give a new status report at approximately 14.00.

Additional information on payment confirmations

The disturbance also affects the additional payment confirmations and the confirmation of e-invoices by SMS. Unfortunately these services are not available at present. Through the Nordea Codes app in Mobile Bank, the payment confirmations work as normal.

Instructions:

Customers can reconfirm payments until the end of the following banking day. If you use an SMS message to confirm a payment, the payment will only be executed once, so no harm is done if you try to confirm a payment several times. When you make the confirmation by SMS, you will receive a reply 'the payment has been paid' by SMS.

If you do not receive such an SMS by the end of the following banking day, check if the payment has been debited to your account and pay it again, if necessary.

If a payment waiting for additional confirmation has not been confirmed by an SMS by the end of the following banking day, the payment will expire. 

You can also confirm the payment by calling the additional confirmation service, tel 0800 165 656; service in Finnish: Mon–Sun 24/7, service in Swedish: on weekdays from 8.00 to 20.00 and service in English: on weekdays from 10.00 to 16.30.

Unconfirmed e-payments are shown in Netbank in the Attention box on the 'Everyday banking' page and on the 'Unconfirmed payments' page. They can be reconfirmed after the problem has been fixed. 

We understand that the situation is extremely inconvenient for our customers and are doing our utmost to fix the problem as soon as possible.
