In September Nordea and Thinkers50 Business Forum, a premiere business event bringing together big thinkers and CEOs, hosted a two-day event in Odense.
It was a local intimate Danish event, where 125 out of the 600 participants were Nordea customers. Sasja Beslik, head of sustainability at Nordea, was one of the key note speakers and he was joined on stage with some of the world´s leading business thinkers.
This year´s theme was “Making better choices”. Business leaders face more choices than ever before and there are few limits to the ways a business can grow. The hardest part is usually deciding what not to do. Together the participants explored how business leaders can most effectively apply new technologies – for people and for profit - and how important social impact is for future business future success. Peter Fisk, founder of Thinkers50, pushed the audience to consider “Are you in business for making profit or for a bigger purpose”?
"It is a great pleasure for me to be able sponsor and meet our customers at an event such as Thinkers50, where we have the opportunity to together discuss common challenges and the future business agenda. From my point of view this is the essence of being a true business partner for our customers. Our customers joining were very happy with the high professional competence level at the event and the fact that Nordea is taking an active role in the Sustainable Finance agenda, using our core financial competence skills for the benefit of the surrounding community", says Bjørn Bøje Jensen, Head of Business Banking Denmark.
Throughout the conference, the importance of harnessing the power of collaboration with customers, partners and competitors was a recurring topic. A message that very much resonates with Nordeas open banking strategy, where we already today invite customers and companies to develop together with us.Nordea and the financial sector has an important role in combatting climate change
Nordea contributed to the discussion by introducing our view upon the importance of Sustainable Finance, ensuring that money is allocated to areas where it will make a positive, sustainable contribution to our future. In light of the recent published report Global Warming of 1.5C, the topic was very much relevant and also appreciated. Sasja Beslik highlighted the important role of the finance sector in combatting climate change and how Nordea collaborates with our customers to help them making sustainable choices, through our advice, our products and our services.Learn more
