In the Treasury and Cash Management awards organised by Global Finance magazine, Nordea has completed a Nordic clean sweep with wins in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway. Nordea was also announced as The Best Bank for Liquidity Management in Western Europe.
Global Finance has released the rankings for its twenty-first annual Best Treasury and Cash Management Banks and Providers awards.
In this year’s awards, Global Finance used a multi-tiered assessment process—which included entries from banks and providers and input from industry analysts, corporate executives, technology experts and independent research—to select the best providers of treasury and cash management services. A variety of subjective and objective criteria were considered, including: profitability, market share and reach, customer service, competitive pricing, product innovation and the extent to which treasury and cash management providers have successfully differentiated themselves from their competitors around core service provision.
A real partnership with customers
Erik Zingmark, Head of Transaction Banking at Nordea, says: “Our dedicated team of cash management specialists has been working very hard to make sure we offer the best level of support to our customers. Our goal as always is to give our customers the advice and solutions they need to help their businesses succeed and flourish. This was especially the case during 2020 which presented a new set of challenges for companies throughout the Nordics. We adapted quickly to the changing circumstances and proactively reached out to our customers to help them as much as possible. It’s a fantastic achievement to receive the Global Finance Best Treasury and Cash Management Provider award for all four of our home markets and good recognition of the efforts we have made. I would like to thank all of the Nordea team for going the extra mile. We are looking forward to an action packed year ahead as we help our customers and the Nordic economies to recover.”
Katy Spicer-Eriksen, Head of Liquidity Management and Corporate Channels at Nordea, adds: “At Nordea, we have embarked on a journey to partner with our customers to help them to meet their liquidity management needs. We take an advisory approach to equip our customers with the tools and support required to achieve the optimal liquidity management set up. We have great aspirations to develop our Liquidity offering even further, to ensure our customers can continue to optimise their cash and adapt to the changing world around them. This prestigious award from Global Finance is great recognition we are moving in the right direction.”
Joseph D. Giarraputo, publisher and editorial director of Global Finance, says: “Smart management of cash and treasury systems were essential over the past year of pandemic-induced chaos. Our awards pinpoint the financial entities that shepherded their clients through the crisis with real-time insights and strategies that worked even at a time of rapid and dramatic changes.”
