LONDON - Nordea was honoured three times during the ninth Adam Smith Awards Gala, which took place in the City of London in mid-June. The Adam Smith Awards are recognised globally as the major benchmark for achievement in corporate treasury and this year's awards were chosen from 219 nominations from 19 countries.

Nordea won top prize in the category of Best Trade Solution for their collaboration with Volvo Cars; the award focused on the special relationship between buyer and seller, which Nordea helped facilitate. Elsewhere, Nordea was recognised for their work with Kuehne + Nagel in the category of Best SWIFT Solution.

Henrik Jørgensen, CM Sales Country Head Denmark, who was at the awards, commented: "At the Adam Smith Award Gala in London I had the pleasure to meet our customers and many figures from the international treasury society. It was fantastic to be recognised three times for our work. It makes me extremely proud that Nordea was on stage with three award-winning global corporates - two over-all winners and one highly commended."

Nordea also came highly commended for Best Cash Management Solution for a project run with a major global corporate, who in their nomination specifically highlighted Nordea’s implementation efficiency.

"The fact that the three awards span across Trade Finance, SWIFT, and Cash Management/Collection Services demonstrates that not only does Nordea have a wide, deep and solid Transaction Banking offering, which is highly valued by our customers, we are also highly capable of implementing it so our customers can reap the full benefit," concluded a delighted Jørgensen.
