Nordea Transaction Banking has, for the second year in a row, won The Banker’s Transaction Banking Award for the Nordic region.

The Banker, which is published by the Financial Times Group, announced the news that Nordea had won this prestigious award in its special October Sibos edition.

According to The Banker, the award recognises “the importance of transaction banking and transaction services to the banking industry as a whole”. The winning bank must demonstrate success in diverse initiatives intended to improve productivity, raise service levels and gain strategic advantage.

“I’m really happy and proud that we have won this award, especially for the second year in a row,” commented Peter Hupfeld, Co-Head of Transaction Banking at Nordea. “It shows that we are really coming together and performing as one TxB in the eyes of the market and our customers.”

Nordea introduced a new Transaction Banking area in early 2016 in an effort to increase cooperation across Trade Finance, Nordea Finance, Cash Management, Cards and Working Capital Finance.

“It is a big honour to be recognised by a globally renowned and respected publication like The Banker magazine,” says Erik Zingmark, Co-Head of Transaction Banking at Nordea. “As the award is based on our deliveries and initiatives over the last 12 months, it reflects the progress we have made at Nordea Transaction Banking and assures us that we are moving in the right direction as we create the future of Transaction Banking together with our customers and partners.”
