Global Finance has selected Nordea as the Best Bank in Denmark 2019. This prestigious award continues a great start to the year for award wins, following on from nine separate awards at the recent Global Finance Treasury and Cash Management awards.

In selecting the top banks for 2019, Global Finance magazine considered a range of factors including growth in assets, profitability, geographic reach, strategic relationships, new business development and innovation in products.

Joseph D. Giarraputo, publisher and editorial director of Global Finance, says: “What it takes to rank among the world’s best banks is increasingly difficult to deliver. Customer expectations of financial services providers has never been higher—tailored products delivered in real time with complete security.”

Efforts rewarded

Erik Zingmark, Head of Transaction Banking, says: “These awards are fantastic recognition that the daily efforts we are making to transform the bank are paying off. I am very proud of the things we have accomplished in 2018 and into 2019. Right across the bank and along the value chain, from the development of our range of digital offerings to supporting and advising customers, we are definitely moving in the right direction. There is still a lot of work to do but it’s nice to take an occasional pause and reflect on this very positive feedback.”

Global Finance publishes a monthly magazine that has existed since 1987 and its awards have become a recognised and trusted standard of excellence. A full report on the winning banks will appear in the May issue of Global Finance.

Big wins for Nordea Cash Management and Trade Finance

Nordea was also recently awarded its first ever global award from Global Finance magazine for the ‘Best Application of Blockchain Technology in Treasury Management’ at the annual Best Treasury and Cash Management Awards 2019.
