Nordea are now seeking companies for a startup accelerator programme. The purpose is to find 10 to 15 startups which can contribute to develop new digital services for Nordea’s customers. Nordea's partner in the project is Nestholma andapplications for the accelerator are open until the 25 September.
The idea for the accelerator programme stems from the need for finding new ways of challenging ourselves and gaining fresh insights into tomorrow’s digital services. The positive experiences gained from last autumn's Nordea Innovation Challenge, which was held in Helsinki and Stockholm, also played a part in the decision.
- We have to change the way we think about tomorrow’s banking services. We need new insight and new ideas for that. We believe that a growing number of ideas will come from small companies working around the banking sector. New startups in this industry are emerging all the time, so launching the accelerator gives us the opportunity to join forces with some of the best new players on the field, says head of Digital Banking Christian Bornfeld.
During the three-month programme, the startups will focus on new innovations in the areas of customer contacts, savings and payments services.
- The aim is to have the startups chosen for the programme begin working in our premises in Vallila in Helsinki during November. We encourage startups from across Nordics and Northern Europe to apply. In addition to being given a working space, each startup will be assigned a mentor from Nordea for the project's duration. The companies will also receive 6,000 euros in starting capital from our partner, Nestholma, says Christian Bornfeld.
Applications for the programme are now open. The application period will continue until 25 September, after which the process of selecting the startups begins.
