Nordea voted best user of responsible investment research

Nordea is the asset manager that best utilises research into responsible investment and corporate governance issues. We are also the biggest contributor to the debate about these subjects, according to a poll made by research providers Extel and SRI-Connect.

“We were voted number one in both categories because our clients care about environmental, social and governance issues”, said Sasja Beslik, who heads Nordea’s Responsible Investment team.

The top ranking in the Independent Research in Responsible Investment (IRRI) survey 2015 follows an announcement in November that Nordea Asset Management won the CFI award for best ESG (environment, social and governance) Investment Process in Europe. Nordea strives to be an active owner that encourages a sustainable business model in its holdings, including from an ESG perspective.

The IRRI survey is conducted by London-based research firm Extel and responsible investment research platform SRI-Connect. This year’s survey is based on responses from 1,287 analysts, portfolio managers, corporate social responsibility managers and investor relations managers from 681 firms.

In a video that accompanied the announcement, Mike Tyrrell, editor at SRI-Connect, encouraged people to watch Nordea’s research-field-trip videos, describing them as “proper boots-on-the-ground-SRI research in practice”.
