All eyes are on OPEC’s 25 May meeting in Vienna, where the coalition will decide whether to extend its oil production cuts. OPEC faces a tough balancing act: On the one hand, it needs to extend the cuts and maybe go even further to achieve its goal of reducing the global supply glut. On the other hand, higher oil prices drive up US shale production. Will OPEC strike the right balance?
