Nordea Asset Management’s responsible investment journey took off properly about ten years ago, when Nordea signed the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) in 2007. A lot has happened since then.
This year, Nordea Asset Management has had the honour of receiving the “Best Investment ESG Process” award from CFI.
“We are very pleased to be given the CFI best ESG process award for the fourth consecutive year. Receiving such an award is a great confirmation of our efforts to integrate environmental, social and governance considerations into our Stars fund family,” comments Katarina Hammar, Co-head of Responsible Investment.
ESG and Nordea’s investment process
By combining financial performance with responsibility, we strive to offer clients responsible solutions. We believe that we can add value for our clients by actively considering environmental, social and governance issues (ESG) in our analysis and investment decisions – particularly through our investment research, asset allocation and performance monitoring. We recognise that integrating ESG issues forms part of our fiduciary duty to clients and beneficiaries, ensuring that their portfolios are managed in a way that systematically assesses drivers of risk and return over the long term. We ensure that our ESG research is integrated into the investment processes of our investment units and also develop and run specialised ESG products and services together with other units.
FACTS ABOUT CFI
CFI is a London-based magazine covering economics, finance and industry. Each year, CFI.co seeks out individuals and organisations that contribute significantly to the convergence of economies and truly add value for all stakeholders. Reporting from frontlines of economic convergence, CFI.co realises that best practice is found throughout the world, and the Awards Programme aims to identify and reward excellence wherever it is found with a view to inspiring others to further improve their own performance. This is the fourth time that CFI has issued a best ESG process award. The winner is selected by a special CFI jury based on nominated candidates. The magazine is available both in print and online.
