Update 4 March 2018:
13:50 - The break in Nordea's banking services is over and all services are again available to our customers. All cards function normally and can be used for cash withdrawals. Our Netbank is also operating as normal.
10:20 - We have completed some of the IT maintenance work performed during the service break today, 4 March 2018. All cards function normally and can be used for cash withdrawals and deposits at ATMs.
There will be breaks in almost all Nordea’s services in Finland on Sunday 4 March 2018. The service breaks will start in the morning at 4.00. The break affecting cards is estimated to end by 12.00 noon, and the break affecting other services by 16.00.
We will try to keep the service break as short as possible, and the services will be made available to customers as the maintenance work progresses.
The following services will be unavailable during the service break on Sunday 4 March 2018 between 4.00 and 12.00:
- Withdrawal and deposit of cash at ATMs
- Withdrawal of cash at shop checkouts
- Most card payments
The following services will be unavailable during the service break on Sunday 4 March 2018 between 4.00 and 16.00:
- Netbank (personal and corporate customers)
- Bill payment ATMs
- Mobile Bank (personal and corporate customers)
- Identification with the code card, the code app and the code calculator
- E-identification (using public services with Nordea's access codes, for example)
- Payment traffic and payment services
- Nordea Wallet (Nordea Pay), Apple Pay, Nordea Investor and Siirto
The break will also affect Nordea Finance’s services and payment cards, such as Stockmann MasterCard, Finnair Plus MasterCard and TUOHI MasterCard.
Why will the services not be available?
The reason why we are having a service break is a failover test of Nordea’s data systems to prepare for exceptional circumstances. This kind of testing is necessary in order to ensure and improve IT stability both at the bank and in society at large. Unfortunately, this work can-not be performed without interrupting our services for our customers.
During the service break, you cannot withdraw cash with Nordea's cards or use Nordea's ac-cess codes for electronic identification. Netbank and Mobile Bank will be unavailable during the entire break. Card payments will be possible with certain restrictions at stores and un-manned service stations, but the payment process may be slow and payments will not neces-sarily succeed.
The service break will also affect Nordea Customer Service (personal customers), tel 0200 70 000, and Nordea Business Centre (corporate customers), tel 0200 26262. During the ser-vice break, you will not be able to handle any personal banking matters through Customer Service or Business Centre, as you will not be able to identify yourself with your access codes.
How should you prepare for the service break?
Prepare for the service break by withdrawing enough cash in advance and by doing in ad-vance your daily banking and any business requiring electronic identification in services pro-vided by public authorities or other third parties. Remember that you can withdraw cash with Nordea’s cards in connection with your purchases at K food stores, Neste K stations, Tok-manni stores and R kiosks all over Finland.
The service break will also affect Nordea’s cards and Netbank and Mobile Bank while travel-ling or abroad. If you are on a trip abroad for the weekend, we recommend paying your hotel bill on Saturday before the break, and if you are travelling by ferry, remember to take enough cash with you.
We will provide information and reminders on the service break on our website, Twitter and Facebook. The service break will also be announced in Netbank’s news.
