Double win for Nordea at the PayTech Awards

Double delight

On a very successful Friday afternoon on the River Thames in London, Nordea proved to be the day’s big winner by taking home two of the most sought-after awards on offer at the ceremony: ‘Best Mobile Payments Initiative’ and ‘IT Team of the Year’.

Celebrating the ‘Best Mobile Payments Initiative’ for Nordea Wallet, Teppo Jansson, Head of Mobile and Emerging Payments Solutions at Nordea, and Juha Risikko, Head of Mobile & Emerging Payments at Nordea, say: “We are thrilled that Nordea Wallet won in the competition where companies like Revolut, Ripple and Alipay where shortlisted. This also shows we are doing the right things when providing customers an easy way to follow their spending insights and pay easily.”

“Nordea Wallet is the perfect card companion which enables customers to turn mobile devices and smart watches into payment Instruments and help to stay on top of daily spending. It also means we will meet even tougher competition in the future and we need to find even better ways to provide great customer experiences.”

Team effort

For Open Banking, the award of ‘IT Team of the Year’ was another win in 2018 and further recognition for the project.
