Hyderabad in India is one of the world's most polluted areas and a genuine dumping ground for many of the western pharmaceutical industry suppliers, Sasja Beslik travelled to the area to shoot a movie, to promote greater dialogue on environmental improvements in the area.
Subsequently, the film is presented for the pharmaceutical companies Nordea Asset Management invests in in order to demonstrate how the company's Indian subcontractor affects the local community.
- In this way we can get the company to urge their suppliers to improve the handling of hazardous waste. If they're do not listen to us, we can take up the issues at the company’s general meeting, and last resort, we can sell our holdings in the company, explains Sasja Beslik.
