COPENHAGEN – Nordea Transaction Banking has won The Banker’s prestigious Transaction Banking Award for the Nordic region 2016.

The Banker, owned by the Financial Times, announced the news that Nordea had won the first ever Nordic award in this area in its special September Sibos edition.

According to The Banker, the award goes to a bank that has “demonstrated a clear strategy, as well as improvement and progress in the past 12 months” and that the accolade aims “to celebrate the success of initiatives to improve productivity, raise service levels and gain strategic advantage”.

“Winning The Banker’s first ever Transaction Banking Award for the Nordic region is a great honour for Nordea. It is also testament to the initial success of the journey we are undertaking to actively transform our industry and define the future transaction banking landscape together with our customers,” commented a delighted Erik Zingmark, Co-Head of Transaction Banking at Nordea.

The positive news follows the creation of a new Transaction Banking area at the end of 2015, which hoped to maximise synergies across Trade Finance, Nordea Finance, Cash Management, Cards and Working Capital Finance.
