The International Bank Account Number (IBAN) is attached to all accounts in the EU countries, the EEA countries (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and most of the remaining European countries. The IBAN is entered in the field reserved for the beneficiary’s account number without spaces and it should always be used together with the BIC code of the beneficiary’s bank, unless the so-called IBAN-only principle applies for the country of the beneficiary’s bank (read more on nordea.com/iban).
Type or paste an IBAN in the textbox below and click "Validate". The program validates the number and lets you know whether it is valid or not.
Please note that this check will not confirm that the bank account exists, only that the format of the IBAN conforms to the required standard for the bank and country.
You will find additional information about different countries’ IBAN formats at the website of SWIFT.
