“Sustainability is not just an issue close to our hearts, it’s strategically important when we make decisions on how to develop our business in the short and long term, so we didn’t hesitate for a moment,” says Andreas Wendby, CFO and sustainability manager at the Branäs Group.
With ski resorts at Branäs and Kungsberget, the Branäs Group is Sweden’s second-largest privately owned ski business. With 57 pistes and innumerable kilometres of cross-country skiing tracks, the resorts are perennially popular winter holiday destinations.
Took part in Nordea’s pilot
In the autumn of 2022, the Branäs Group became one of Nordea’s first customers to try the Normative tool. Growth has always been Branäs’ vision, with sustainability as a key aspect.
“We’re working really hard to electrify our operations to reduce our emissions, and the data from Normative have supported this process,” says Andreas Wendby.
Customers can use the tool to see their levels of emission. By entering data into Normative’s carbon calculator they can see where emissions occur in the value chain and identify opportunities to reduce them. In 2022, Nordea entered into a partnership with Normative and started offering its services to customers.
“The best thing about Normative is that it’s easy to use. We implemented everything in a clear template. When this was done the import was smooth and the output gave us a clear overview of the emissions from our business. It’s the simplicity that makes Normative a cut above similar tools,” says Andreas Wendby.
