Sign upEspen Barth Eide is Norway’s Minister of Climate and Environment, a position he has held since the Støre government was formed on 14 October 2021. From 2017-2021, he was a Member of Parliament and the Norwegian Labour Party’s Climate and Energy spokesperson. He was reelected to the Parliament for the 2021-2025 legislative term, representing Oslo. In the two Stoltenberg Governments, Mr. Eide occupied many prominent positions: Foreign Minister from 2012 to 2013, Minister of Defense from 2011 to 2012, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs from 2010 to 2011, State Secretary for Defense from 2005 to 2010 and State Secretary for Foreign Affairs from 2000-2001. Mr. Eide was also Managing Director and Member of the Managing Board of the World Economic Forum in Geneva from 2014 to 2016. Until October 2021, Mr. Eide was the Chair of the Board of the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue in Geneva, a peace mediation organization, Board member of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Board member of the Norwegian Atlantic Committee, senior adviser to the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Washington (CSIS) and a member of the European Leadership Network in London.
Kristin Halvorsen is director at the Centre for International Climate and Environmental Research (CICERO). She is also chairman of “Kronprinsparets Fond”, and was chairman of the Natural History Museum until 31 December 2019 and former chairman of the Biotechnology Council. Halvorsen is a former politician and was a member of the Stoltenberg II government from 2005 to 2013. She was Norway's first female finance minister from 2005 to 2009 and “Kunnskapsminister” from 2009 to 2013. From 2005 to 2012 she was number two in the government and deputy prime minister.
Thorhild Widvey is currently serving as Chair of the Board at Statkraft and a member of the Board at Kværner ASA. She is a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party and has served as Minister of Culture, and Minister of Petroleum and Energy. This builds upon the experience she gained as deputy minister in both the Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal affairs, and The Foreign Office. Widvey was born in Karmøy, Norway. On the local level, Widvey was a member of the Karmøy municipal council, during which she spent six years on the executive committee. She was first elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Rogaland in 1989. A physical therapist by education, she has also served as deputy leader of the Norwegian Sporting Association of People with Disabilities. Thorhild Widvey is a graduate of BI Norwegian Business School and Sports Academy Aarhus and has extensive experience from various large public and private enterprises, several within the oil and energy sector.
Lars Løddesøl is the Group Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President at Storebrand ASA. He was previously Executive Vice President for Life and Pensions, Norway and also worked in positions at Citibank and Scandinavian Airline System (SAS). He studied in the Advanced Management Program at Columbia, has an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a MSc in Business Administration from BI Norwegian Business School.
Marianne Hagen is part of the executive management team in the multinational Norwegian company Aker Solutions which delivers integrated solutions, products and services to the global energy industry. She has a primary attention on working with customers, partners and stakeholders to reach Aker Solutions' and the customers’ carbon emission and sustainability goals, and to work towards the purpose of Aker Solutions which is to solve global energy challenges for future generations. She has an extensive career related to management, board and political positions. Her multifaceted role in the Aker Solutions entails that she can use her extensive experience in politics, public affairs, communications, social responsibility and environmental issues to the fullest. Previously, she was state secretary at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representing the Minister of Foreign Affairs in international meetings and in relations with regional and global organizations. In this role she worked within areas of sustainability, anti-corruption, trade, culture, human rights and humanitarian aid. Marianne Hagen’s experience includes management positions at the Royal House of Norway, and the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association, which is a trade and employment organization for Norwegian controlled companies within the shipping and offshore industry. She has had several political roles and board positions. She studied law and political science at the University of Oslo, Norway.
