Euromoney awards to Nordea for best bank in Denmark and Finland

Euromoney has announced the winners for their Euromoney awards for Excellence 2022 and Nordea takes home the awards for best bank in Denmark and Finland. Nordea in Denmark also won the best investment bank category.

In the Euromoney’s award programme banks are evaluated on parameters like profitability, ability to demonstrate growth, performance compared with peers and the ability to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs. The data submitted by the banks are analysed by Euromoney’s team of editors, journalists and researchers.

How Nordea in Denmark succeeded with transactions

Nordea has several times won the best investment bank category in Denmark for the volume, number and complexity of merger and acquisitions, equity capital and debt capital markets activities and other financing services. In this round, landmark transactions include Alm, Brand’s acquisition of Codan Denmark, CVC’s acquisition of Stark Group, and GN’s acquisition of Steelseries.
Sustainable financing advisory was also recognised as Nordea has taken part in some of the most significant Danish sustainable financing transactions by assisting Pandora, COOP and Falck with their transition to the sustainability-linked loan format.  

How Nordea in Finland increased in customer usage

Nordea has also received numerous awards in Finland for high-quality services and customer-driven solutions, like best Private banking in ESG/Impact investing 2021 and best investment bank in Finland category in 2021, anchoring Nordea’s position as the leading corporate bank in Finland. In Finland, there are 1 million personal customers using the mobile banking app and 1.3 million customers using the Nordea ID app. In app stores, our customers have ranked the mobile banking app the best in Finland.

For the past two years, Nordea has helped a record number of Finns secure their dream home and loan customers are now more satisfied than ever. The lending portfolio is currently outgrowing the market in Finland, and the market share in mortgage lending has grown up to 30% over the past four years.

In addition, our wealth management services are the largest in Finland with very satisfied customers.

Evaluation on a yearly basis

Euromoney is an international financial magazine which on a yearly basis evaluates financial institutions through performance data, surveys and industry awards. Their annual Awards for Excellence programme was established in 1992 and attracts more than 1,200 submissions from the world’s leading banks.
