Ten teams entered the competition, represented by Graduate Programme members from all over the bank. The competition resulted in an array of great solutions, but by the end of the presentation day, it was “Goal Getter – one goal at a time” that emerged as the winner.

Hi! First of all, congratulations to you all – how does it feel to be the Nordea Graduate Programme Case Competition winners?

Thank you so much! Winning is rewarding, but the real value came from teamwork and learning throughout the process. Competing with talented peers made the experience meaningful, and we’re pleased that our solution can support Nordea’s future growth.

We know the solution is still being kept secret, as you will present it to the leadership team in Personal Banking in January, although the working name has been revealed – “Goal Getter”. Could you tell us how you came up with the idea?

One of our team members came up with the name “Goal Getter” the day before the competition, and it was one of those moments when everything just fell into place. “Goal Getter” felt like the perfect fit – it aligned with our vision and gave our idea a strong identity, as our solution aims to make saving more personalised and engaging.

You are Graduate Programme members from many different part of the bank – how did you distribute the work?

We divided the work by identifying key strengths in the team, allowing each person to take the lead in areas where they could add the most value – whether this was within research, technical solutions, strategy or presentation. We kept a constant flow of communication, enabling us to stay coordinated and fine-tune our solution as a group.

One final question – in terms of learning, what are you main take-aways from this experience?

We learned the importance of collaboration and how different perspectives can lead to innovative solutions. Along the way, we met many talented individuals who helped us succeed. As for pitching, it’s a lot less intimidating now – we’re ready for the next opportunity!
