Teppo Jansson laughs as he reminisces over the first mobile banking solution – with its 2x2cm screen and tens of thousands of users. It’s a rather different situation today:
“We have millions of customers using our digital platforms on a daily basis and over 90 million logins to our mobile banking services each month,” he says.
“I’m proud to tell people I work on solutions that significantly impact how people conduct their daily banking.”
Smarter banking
Teppo Jansson works together with 350 colleagues in Nordea’s One Digital department, developing mobile banking apps, netbanks, application programming interface solutions, artificial intelligence chatbots and notifications, and activating different wearable devices so they can be used instead of plastic cards to make payments.
To meet growing demand for smarter and faster digital banking, One Digital is expanding and opening positions in a new software development hub in Joensuu, Finland. Teppo Jansson is seeking software development talents to join him in developin the mobile banking solutions of the future.
Join the digital transformation
“I don’t think the banking industry is at the forefront of developers’ minds when they’re looking for a new job – but there are some really exciting opportunities available,” Teppo Jansson comments.
“I’d like to open people’s eyes to how much Nordea is doing in the digital space and how many customers benefit.”
“We get to work with new technologies and our current tech stack is comparable to many software companies. It’s hugely rewarding to work with solutions that are used by millions of people and rated highly in app stores.”
So what kind of digital solutions can developers expect to work on in the future? “That’s a trade secret of course,”he says with a smile.“But they’ll provide more insights regarding financial security and even more engaging services.”
