During the event, parents received updates on Nordea's 2030 strategy, developments at the Tallinn office and what had been happening across the organisation while they were away. They also had the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and leaders afterwards.
One of the attendees was Soili Malm, a Team Leader in Transaction Monitoring, supporting Danish customers from Estonia. For her, the event was a welcome opportunity to gain insight into how the organisation had evolved while she was away and to ease the transition back to work.
"It gives you a really warm feeling. You still feel like part of Nordea even though you're away. When you're on parental leave for a long time, you can have mixed feelings about returning to work. Events like this help you understand what's happening in the company and make the transition back feel easier," she says.
More than just an event
The event also reflects Nordea Estonia's broader focus on supporting parents before, during and after parental leave. Previous events have also included discussions about parental wellbeing, returning to work and common concerns faced by working parents, helping colleagues build confidence and prepare for the next stage of their professional journey.
