Courage: To do what is right 

 

“Courage to me means fighting for what one finds important and standing up for each other’s beliefs. It also means protecting others who aren’t able to do so themselves,” says My-Binh Ly, Senior Compliance Officer, Estonia.  

 

Courage at Nordea means doing the right thing, even when it is difficult or scary. In practice, it means we encourage and empower our employees to speak up if they notice a decision is not right for the customer, or if a process does not take into account the interests of employees and customers.  

 

Courage also means having the confidence to embrace change and try new things. Whether it’s upskilling to take on new tasks, or receiving mentorship to take on new responsibilities, or devising new solutions for our customers, our employees know that the company and their colleagues always have their backs.
