Nordea Bank AB (publ) and Nordea Bank Abp have decided to execute the re-domiciliation of the parent company to Finland, a member state of the European banking union. The re-domiciliation will take effect on 1 October 2018.

Nordea Bank AB (publ) and Nordea Bank Abp have today decided to execute the merger plan, and consequently to carry out the re-domiciliation of the parent company of the Nordea Group to Finland with effect as of 1 October 2018. The decisions are based on the Nordea Group having obtained all relevant material approvals needed for the execution of the merger.

Domiciling in a country that is participating in the banking union is the best way to secure a fair, stable and predictable regulatory environment for Nordea on a par with its peers.

The re-domiciliation is expected by Nordea to promote the interests of customers, shareholders and employees. Nordea will continue to be a trusted partner that aims to offer its customers the best service in the market anytime, anywhere, and no changes in the day-to-day operations are expected from a customer perspective.

All banking business is carried out by Nordea Bank AB (publ) up until 30 September 2018. As from 1 October 2018 it will be carried out by Nordea Bank Abp.
