(NO #2) We are six interns who started at Nordea Markets in Oslo in June. Looking back, we’ve had some eventful weeks. Tag along and see what we’ve been up to.
For starters, we have been introduced to the Nordea organisation, and how it operates, and gained insight into some of the important operational roles in the bank. It’s been great to see, that everyone we’ve met are very welcoming, and happy to share their knowledge with us. All we have to do is ask – so we do!
We have also been assigned to our first projects, and divided into pairs:
Isabella and Vegard: We are working with the LC&I ESG unit on potential investment opportunities. So far, our work has mainly involved a lot of research which we will turn into a presentation for the ESG team.
Ella and Erlend: We are working on an ESG and AML project for the LC&I department.
Nanna and Sondre: We have been working on two potential deals, where we have conducted market research and prepared presentations for meetings. Moreover, we have taken part in meetings and presented some of our research to our colleagues.
In addition, we had our first floor ball practise (a few more weeks and we’ll all be pros... 😊). We also attended our first class at Summer Academy, where Risk Solutions presented current macro trends and themes. This was especially exciting given the current interest rate situation and Norges Bank raising 50bps for the first time in 20 years.
After the Summer Academy session, we gathered at a bar to continue talking over drinks.
We’ve had a great time already, are looking forward to the next seven weeks. We’ll keep you posted 😉.
