The first AI Hackathon within tech teams working in Payments and Financial Transactions generated 34 practical solutions, with the winning AI-powered Release Note Generator cutting manual work to mere minutes. 200+ colleagues attended the demos, and several solutions are already moving to pilot phase.

From ideas to real impact

“The ideas were high quality and well thought through,” says Aleksei Simak, one of the hackathon judges. “It was encouraging to see that several ideas are already being explored in other service areas, which opens the door for collaboration rather than isolated innovation.”

Among the top solutions were tools that automate complex, manual tasks – a clear signal that teams are focusing on AI where it creates real, scalable value.

The winning solution: AI‑powered Release Note Generator

The AI‑powered Release Note Generator, developed by Lu Yang, Jakub Zwierzycki, and Subhash Patil, tackles a familiar pain point in software delivery: creating accurate and consistent release notes from information scattered across Jira tickets, Git commits, configuration changes and deployment data.

The AI‑powered solution automatically gathers verified data from multiple sources and generates clear, consistent release notes with far less manual effort – making them easier to understand for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

“Release note preparation is a real and recurring challenge in everyday engineering work,” says Lu Yang. “The hackathon allowed us to quickly validate the idea and build a working MVP that shows how AI, when combined with structured data and good design, can deliver immediate and practical value.”
