Janne is passionate about data analysis and risk management, with time dedicated to innovation. Tuan thrives on coding tasks and process automation within an international team. They're Future Finance Professional (FFP) trainees in different fields with different educational backgrounds—yet they both agree: their time as FFPs has been a great experience, educational and fun.

Read their stories about the daily work and memorable events and discover what makes the FFP program so great and rewarding.

Janne Aho

I graduated with a Master’s degree in Finance and Analytics from LUT University in June 2026.

It’s been a little over a month since I started as an FFP trainee in Counterparty & Collateral Risk Analytics, and I have really enjoyed it. The job tasks, colleagues and the first FFP event have definitely made my time in Nordea a great experience.

Before Nordea, I did not have any formal experience in the field of finance. However, I just graduated with a master’s degree in finance and analytics, and I’ve also always been interested in financial markets and automation, which made me apply for this internship.

My work consists mainly of daily tasks regarding data analysis, monitoring and taking appropriate action on counterparties that might increase the risk of Nordea. Additionally, as part of the FFP program, I’m working together with three other FFPs on a group project where we are analyzing price sensitivity and customer behavior regarding Nordea’s products.

Time to innovate - and have fun

What surprised me the most in this program is that, on top of your daily tasks, you are left with a lot of time to innovate and come up with better procedures of doing things, which is quite extraordinary for an internship. Additionally, throughout the summer, there are a lot of scheduled activities after work, that we, FFPs, can participate in, to get to know each other and have fun together.

I’ve truly enjoyed working here as FFP, and I am thrilled to see what the summer brings in the upcoming weeks and months.

Tuan Tran Quang Anh

I graduated with  a Master of Science in Machine Learning, Data Science & AI from Aalto University in June 2026.

I joined the FFP programme in May, and have been part of the Automation & AI team in Group Finance for four weeks now. So far, my workdays have mostly consisted of coding tasks and learning how to work effectively in a professional, collaborative environment.

Luckily, I have had a very supportive team around me from the start. Our team is also very international, with members based in Finland, Denmark, and Poland, so meeting everyone in person does not happen often. That is why last week felt especially memorable: it was the first time our whole team gathered in Helsinki for a team day. It was great to finally meet everyone face to face.

Memorable experience

Beyond the work itself, the day gave us a chance to get to know each other better and talk about our goals, our impact, and how we work as a team. I found it really interesting to see how different people approach problems – what they have learned from experience, and even how each of us prefers to communicate. I think understanding these nuances will make a big difference as we continue building a strong team together.

In the afternoon, we put our teamwork into practice by going to an Escape room. It turned out to be a fun challenge, and we managed to beat the room in time through what felt like a great mix of teamwork, clear division of responsibilities, and communication. After that, we had dinner at a restaurant, which was also a highlight of the day. I am really grateful to my team leader and teammates for making it such a fun and memorable experience.

In short, I really enjoy my time as FFP.
