Before joining Nordea, I worked part-time during my university studies in the finance sector at a local bank in Finland. After that, I gained experience at an international company, where I handled HR-related tasks. This experience made me realise that I could be a strong match for the position offered by the programme.

Exploring People processes

As a People Graduate, I’ve be able to work and learn in different teams within the People unit. I have worked in People Direct, supporting employees and leaders with everyday HR related topics. I also spend time in Learning, where I organised trainings for Private Banking and Business Banking. Currently, I’m in Talent Attraction, working on Employer Branding – a topic close to my heart, as I wrote my master’s thesis on it.

Learning through collaboration

Over the past year, I’ve met incredible colleagues and built a network that spans local teams and international projects. Collaboration is one of Nordea’s core values, and I’ve seen it in action every day. The programme also offers excellent training including mentoring and project management and, most importantly, a community of fellow graduates – some of whom I’m proud to call friends.

Looking ahead with courage and passion

After this first year, my expectations for the next are even higher. I plan to explore a team in a different unit to gain a broader view of Nordea’s core business. The Graduate Programme is unique because it doesn’t only develop you but also offers stability beyond the programme, including a permanent position. That gives me confidence that Nordea invests in its people for the long term.

In today’s competitive job market, that commitment matters. I’m grateful for the opportunity and excited to continue moving forward.

The application period  for the next Graduate Programme opens in February 2026. If you’re someone who wants to move forward, Nordea might be the right place for you.
