Climate hub provides businesses with easy tools to tackle their net zero journey
Nordea encourages customers to commit to net zero through the SME Climate Hub – a global platform that helps small and medium-sized businesses reach net-zero emissions by 2050.
90% of businesses in the world are small or medium-sized, and their climate ambitions and concrete plans are therefore crucial in the transition to a more sustainable economy. While many of the large companies in the Nordics have progressed on their transition, smaller businesses struggle with getting started on their transition. Which is why Nordea has decided to nudge our customers to join the SME Climate Hub – a global platform designed to support small or medium-sized businesses in their journey towards net zero.
Joining SME Climate Hub will help companies to reduce business risks and future-proof their business. It will also give a competitive advantage as investors, employees and customers can see how the company is taking action to tackle climate change and adopting climate goals. And beyond that it can help to grow the business and brand by attracting new customers. When joining the hub, businesses will commit to halving their emissions by 2030, achieve net zero by 2050 and report on their progress yearly.
“Driving the transition is a common effort and we want to support our customers in reaching their targets, no matter the size,” says Nina Arkilahti, Head of Business Banking. “The hub brings much of the supportive tools and material that small and medium-sized business are in need of to successfully start their transition journey.”
