Our employee restaurant in Sweden and the canteens in Metro and Hermes Hus’ in Denmark have just earned the prestigious Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification, joining our Norwegian locations that already held this label. The achievement creates a strong sustainability presence across our Nordic locations and represents a key step in our sustainability journey.

What does this mean?

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is a label of environmental excellence that looks at everything from how our food is prepared to how waste is handled. In Sweden, our employee restaurant Bankers Corner has made history as the first ISS restaurant to receive this certification.

Since March 2025, our restaurant partner ISS has been working hard to meet these high standards by:

  • Serving more sustainable and organic food and drink
  • Ensure re-cycling and more circular use of resources
  • Using energy and water more efficiently
  • No use of disposable items in daily serving
  • Reduce the use of chemicals in cleaning and dish washing

This was not about checking boxes; it required a complete rethinking of restaurant operations to put sustainability at the heart of everything.

This achievement shows we are serious about our environmental commitments. When you enjoy a meal at our restaurants, you can feel good knowing your dining experience supports practices that protect our planet for future generations.

As we maintain these certifications in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, and work toward achieving it in Finland, we're showing our commitment to sustainability across all countries where we operate employee restaurants. This approach reflects our broader environmental goals and demonstrates how we're making sustainability part of everyday work life at Nordea.
