We're pleased to say it was an unforgettable two-day event – bringing our new joiners together from across the Nordics in Stockholm for a thorough introduction to Nordea, our business, and our collaborative culture. Equally important, the onboarding event was about team-building and relationship-forming in an informal and joyful setting. In all, a programme that sets the tone for what a career at Nordea looks and feels like.

Day One: Getting the Full Picture

Day one kicked off at Nordea's Stockholm headquarters, where the group met senior colleagues from across the franchise.

Introduction with Stefan Löhr, Head of Private Equity & International Institutions.

Through a series of interactive sessions, our new colleagues gained a real understanding of how the business works — how different teams collaborate across areas to deliver value to clients, and why that cross-functional perspective matters from day one.

After a tour of the office and lunch on the rooftop terrace, the afternoon sessions encouraged participants to think beyond their immediate roles and develop a broader view of the organisation.

Into the Archipelago

With the Stockholm archipelago gleaming in late summer sunshine, the group traded laptops for life jackets and headed out on the open water for a match-racing sailing competition.

Just as working in investment banking requires teamwork, communication and trust, navigating a sailboat proved to be an effective — and thoroughly enjoyable — way to build trust and sharpen communication among colleagues who had met only hours earlier.

The fleet made its way to the island town of Vaxholm, where a Fort Boyard-inspired team challenge tested collaboration in a rather different setting.

The day concluded with dinner and an overnight stay in Vaxholm — an evening that, by all accounts, ended later than the agenda had suggested.

Day Two: How Deals Come Together

The second day brought the group back to the substance of the work itself. Through case presentations from Corporate Finance, Leveraged Finance, and Debt Solutions & Structuring, the participants got an end-to-end view of the transaction process – how deals are originated, executed and structured, and teams collaborate across the value chain to make it all possible.

By the time the group returned to Stockholm, two days of shared experience and deeper insights had turned a group of individuals into a network of close colleagues.

We are delighted to welcome this year's analysts and look forward to seeing them grow with us.
