During the spring and summer Nordea joined the celebration of diversity when taking part in Pride events in several countries.

Nordea employees in Estonia, members of the Nordea LGBTQ+ employee resource group, friends and supporters took part in Tallinn Pride on 31 May to show support for diversity, equality and human rights.

After marching the parade, the celebrations continued with a picnic and an open-air concert. Here Nordea was also present at the festival space with a tent where everyone could stop by to discuss Pride, how we work with LGBTQ+ rights and community engagement at our workplace and with diversity and inclusion in general.

With Nordea as one of the main sponsors, Tiina Käsi was invited to give a speech during the opening of the Pride and later at the Swedish Embassy, where she said:

“We’re not doing it because we can (let’s be honest, most banks could), we’re doing it because we want to. We want our more than 1,100 people to feel safe and happy not only inside the protective walls of Nordea, but also in society out there. We want our families, our guests, all people to feel the same. And the shakier it gets out there, the more we need to stand together – united and with determination.”

That Nordea in Estonia was the first corporate team ever to attend Pride in Estonia.
