Launched in June 2025, the Empower Europe fund has seen rapid inflows from both private and institutional investors. Investor demand has been particularly strong in Finland and Denmark, followed by Norway and Sweden, with additional inflows from the rest of Europe.

A strategy linked to long-term change contributing to Europe’s resilience

The investment strategy in Empower Europe is built around companies operating in areas such as energy resilience, re-shoring of production, defence and cyber security - sectors expected to play a key role as Europe evolves.

To translate these themes into investments, the portfolio is structured around more specific focus areas, including electrification, infrastructure development and supply chain resilience. This allows the strategy to move from a broad theme to concrete company selection.

“We are seeing a shift in how Europe approaches energy, industry and infrastructure. These developments are expected to unfold over many years and require continued investment,” says Hilde Jenssen, Head of Fundamental Equities at Nordea Asset Management.

A broader investment approach

Public initiatives across Europe, combined with increased focus on resilience, are also supporting higher investment in areas such as infrastructure, energy systems and industrial capacity- broadening

The performance of the fund during its’ first year underlines how long-term themes across industries can translate into concrete investments, providing exposure to ongoing changes shaping Europe’s economy.
