You’re hereby invited to tag along at the junior analysts' two-day onboarding event.

So, last week we were pleased to welcome 21 of our new-hired first year Analysts from Investment Banking & Equities (IB&E) and Leveraged Finance in Stockholm for the yearly onboarding. This recurrent event is a great way for the juniors to get a thorough introduction to Nordea, as well as a good opportunity to get to know each other across units and countries. It’s professional and social networking at its best.

The day kicked-off at Nordea’s HQ in Stockholm with short presentations focusing on Q&A to help better understand the business model, and discuss how we can collaborate cross-units in transactions.

We then went on a tour around the trading floor, followed by a nice lunch outside at the rooftop terrace, and then we headed back for some final presentations, providing food for thought.

Luckily, the sun was shining in Stockholm, which made the next activity even better; match race in the archipelago.

Working with investment banking requires both team work and good communication skills, which make sailing a great and fun activity.

The destination was Vaxholm and a fort boyard inspired activity, followed by dinner and overnight stay.

Despite the early start and long day at sea, the group was full of energy, and the dinner probably ended later than most would have expected …! Indicating that everyone had a great time.

Happy and cheerful

During day two, the participants were presented case studies from corporate finance, leveraged finance and DCM – giving the junior analysts a detailed insight into the process of a transaction, also outside their own unit.

Although a bit tired, it was a happy and cheerful group who returned to Stockholm on Tuesday afternoon – with some new insight and perceptions, and definitely with an increased network, both professionally and socially.

We emphasise a steep learning curve for our junior colleagues and prioritise continuous feedback to support development of your professional skills.
