At Nordea, safeguarding human rights and creating positive change in the societies we serve are core values. That’s why we are proud to join the Employers Against Domestic Abuse initiative, launched by the Kaljulaid Foundation.
“Domestic abuse is a serious issue that directly impacts both employees and employers, even though incidents often occur outside the workplace. It can affect an employee’s mental and physical well-being, leading to reduced motivation, performance, creativity, and commitment,” says Tiina Käsi, Country Senior Executive of Nordea Estonia, and continues:
“As a workplace we have a unique opportunity—and responsibility—to help prevent and reduce domestic abuse. By joining this initiative, we’re not only raising awareness but also creating a culture where employees feel safe, supported, and empowered to seek help when they need it.”
Knowing the signs – training for leaders and employees
As part of the partnership, all leaders and employees have been invited to training sessions designed to deepen understanding of domestic abuse. These sessions included real-life case studies to illustrate the complexity of abuse and equip participants with practical tools and guidance to respond effectively.
