“It’s fantastic to receive this award. It inspires me even more to keep going and hopefully be able to help more people understand what’s going on with the economy,” comments Susanne Spector.

Susanne Spector has worked in the Swedish macro team at Nordea since 2017. For almost a year, she has been Head of Macro Research. Highly experienced, Susanne holds a PhD in economics. In an interview with Privata Affärer, she talks more about the award and herself. She has been commended with the award for her pedagogical skills.

“Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of my job is when someone approaches me after a presentation and says – now I finally understand how it all fits together.”

In her role, Susanne works closely with other colleagues in the Swedish macro team. The team performs economic analyses and releases reports several times a year. Economic Outlook, for example, is an important publication that comes out three times a year and is appreciated by Nordea’s customers. Susanne herself is responsible for the report Regional Outlook, which comes out twice a year and which delves deeply into developments for Sweden’s various regions.

The goal is not just to produce reports and analyze data. Reaching out with the analysis to customers and the general public is also a key part of the job.

Anyone who follows news flow will see Susanne appearing regularly in articles and TV features, most recently when the Riksbank announced its decision to leave its policy rate unchanged.

Yearly rewards

Each year, the magazine Privata Affärer issues a number of awards under the heading Bank of the Year. Today, the winners were announced and among them is Nordea’s Head of Macroeconomic Analysis, who has been named Bank Profile of the Year.
