My summer as FFP in Markets, LC&I has been interesting - highly educational and fun. You get to experience a steep learning curve with full support from a team of helpful professionals, meanwhile you get to know other ambitious and social FFPs. Besides the actual daily tasks, you also learn interpersonal skills while interacting with both your own team, various colleagues across Nordea and customers.
One of the things I enjoy the most about my traineeship, is the steep learning curve, which at times also can be the most challenging. Learning takes time, it’s an ongoing, never-ending journey, and at first, you knowledge is limited, you cannot know everything immediately, but luckily you are surrounded by colleagues that are always happy to help, helping you to grow.
As there are many different positions available within the FFP programme, a wide range of skills can appear as advantage. For example, in FX desk, where we work with clients in a dynamic environment, quick math skills, ambition to learn, and fluent English will benefit you. But the most important thing is your own interest in following markets!
Stay tuned for upcoming blogs in the series featuring other FFPs.
Meanwhile, take a look at what some of Matias’ fellow interns have been up to in Equity Research and Financial & Risk Control in the Business Control Solutions teams.
