Nordea has once again been recognised for its commitment to sustainability by being included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025. This marks the third consecutive year that we have earned this distinction, placing us among the top 15% of the world’s most sustainable banks. In 2024 Nordea’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment ESG score improved from 67 to 73.

The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook evaluates nearly 10,000 companies worldwide through its Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). Inclusion is reserved for companies demonstrating excellence in sustainability within their industries. Nordea’s consistent presence in the yearbook underscores its dedication to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into its operations.

In 2024 we made significant strides in various ESG ratings, reflecting our ongoing efforts to enhance sustainability practices and disclosures. In addition to the progress in S&P CSA, we continued to improve our Sustainalytics’ rating, with the risk score further decreasing from 15.8 to 12.3. Moreover, the ISS ESG rating improved from C (Prime) to C+ (Prime). Finally, the MSCI rating remained stable at AA.

At Nordea, sustainability remains at the core, influencing how we organise, operate and manage risks, in order to actively engage to drive the transition and capture growth opportunities. By integrating ESG factors into its risk management frameworks and internal due diligence processes, Nordea gains deeper insights into customer business environments. This integration enables us to better support customers in their sustainability transitions, making a tangible impact on society and the environment.

Nordea's inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025 reaffirms our position in the top tier among banks with high sustainability ambitions, committed to driving positive change and supporting the transition towards a more sustainable future. Together with our customers we strive to make things a little bit better every day.
